Lorena Vásquez selects mature reserve rums for Zacapa Royal before a final stage in Le Bois du Roy oak. The casks use wood from four historic French forests: Allier, Nevers, Vosges and Tronçais, linking the Guatemalan blend to a specific oak selection.

Notes

Citrus and caramel lead a full, rounded palate. The texture is silky, with a long, gently sweet finish and lingering exotic-fruit character.

Zacapa was created in 1976 for the centenary of its namesake Guatemalan city. Its later story is shaped by Lorena Vásquez and the solera approach, in which casks with different past lives contribute their own character to the evolving rum.
