20 years of maturation place this Mortlach among the older expressions from the Speyside distillery known as the Beast of Dufftown. The release honours the distilling heritage and the influence of Alexander Cowie.

Notes

Oily citrus and wood spice develop into a savoury barbecue character. Berry jam and cocoa lead to gingerbread, raisins and liquorice on the finish.

HISTORY OF MORTLACH

Mortlach keeps the name of a village that preceded Dufftown. Founded in 1823 as the town's first licensed distillery, it later found new direction under George Cowie and his son Alexander, whose work secured its place in whisky making.
