With each Zodiac Edition, Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud builds on the essential and exquisite character of L’Or de Jean Martell while highlighting the qualities of that year’s zodiac animal. For the 2025 release, he made a scrupulous selection of very old eaux-de-vie from past Years of the Snake, combining them with the original blend – a symphony of over 1,400 eaux-de-vie from Cognac’s four finest terroirs. The blend preserves the intensity and elegance of the original cognac with extreme subtlety, delicacy and refinement. Rich nuances evoke the enigmatic personality of the snake, which is associated with courage, wisdom and caring.

In 1870, Maurice Hennessy created Hennessy XO for his circle of friends and introduced a new style of cognac. Hennessy XO is the Original, the emblematic icon of the Hennessy Maison. Deep and powerful, the eaux-de-vie of this Hennessy XO cognac are aged in young barrels and marked out by their power and energy, but also by their capacity to achieve a great roundness through time. For its latest Limited Edition of Hennessy XO, the Maison collaborated with the great master of light and glass, French contemporary artist Jean-Michel Othoniel. Inspired by the notion of raw material faceted by time-honored savoir-faire and Time, the artist here revisits the emblematic Hennessy XO decanter like a jewel in the rough.

The Rabelais Cuvée decanter appears as a shimmering amber drop suspended in the light. Its bold design and rounded base highlighted by subtle concentric layers magnify the golden reflections of an exceptional cognac while suggesting the work of time. The neck of the precious bottle, sheathed in gold, is engraved with a vine branch, evoking the marvel of the Charente region. Placed on a base gilded with 24-carat gold, a goldsmith’s work, which is polished, assembled by hand with precision and whose lines echo the gentle curves of the precious bottle. This decanter inspires a true tasting ritual. Simply remove its cut crystal cabochon to inhale the Cuvée Rabelais waltz of aromas. Each numbered decanter of the Cuvée Rabelais is set in a real case: a lacquered wooden box.
