Product details

Golden Promise barley was introduced in Scotland in the 1960s and is used to make this Yamazaki Tsukuriwake release. The Japanese single malt matures in American oak, exploring the role of a specific barley variety in whisky production.

Notes

Malt and vanilla introduce honey and orange marmalade. Custard softens the palate, with citrus carrying through a long finish.

Shinjiro Torii established Yamazaki near Kyoto in 1923, choosing a landscape and climate that could give whisky a Japanese identity. Its water and production methods laid the foundations for the country's first malt whisky distillery.
