Japan's first malt whisky distillery, founded in 1923, produces Yamazaki 12 Year Old. This single malt brings together components aged for at least 12 years in American, Spanish and Japanese mizunara oak, linking the heritage with three cask traditions.

Notes

Peach, pineapple and grapefruit meet vanilla and clove. Coconut and cranberry develop into a long finish of sweet ginger and cinnamon.

Shinjiro Torii established Yamazaki near Kyoto in 1923, choosing a landscape and climate that could give whisky a Japanese identity. Its water and production methods laid the foundations for the country's first malt whisky distillery.
