Unforgettable flavors from the classic 10 Year Old whisky find harmony with the sweetness and complexity of Oloroso sherry to create Laphroaig 10 Sherry Oak. Finished in European sherry oak casks for a particularly memorable single malt. This unique expression begins with the same time-honoured process that goes into the regular 10 Year Old Laphroaig. After drawing rich character from ex-Bourbon barrels, the spirit then rests in casks previously filled with sweet Oloroso sherry. Each barrel is hand selected to add extra complexity to our quintessential single malt. It’s what layers notes of Manuka honey and grilled bacon onto our renowned flavours of peat smoke and seaweed.

Tasting notes

Sweet and aromatic with rich waxy notes. Followed by toffee, maple syrup, dark chocolate, pine needle and cedar. ​Lingering sweetness and smoldering peat smoke with nuttiness and a hint of brine.

This classic flavour of our 10 Year malt whisky is the inspiration for every expression in our repertoire. It’s best known for the iconic peaty thump we’re famous for. Laphroaig 10 was created over 75 years ago by the maverick Ian Hunter to bottle the very nature of Islay. To this day, many of our friends at the distillery say it’s their favorite dram because it’s the embodiment of the island we call home. Laphroaig Sherry Oak combines the unmistakable flavor of our 10 Year Old with the sweet, aromatic additions from Oloroso sherry casks. Launched in 2021, it’s the newest expression in our range and has quickly become a firm favourite among our Friends. It’s a happy marriage between rich, full bodied flavour and notes of Manuka honey, bacon and maple syrup. A sweet and smoky dram that’ll take you away to Islay.
