Chardonnay planted in 1962 on the south-facing Champ Caïn slope in Avize supplies this single-vineyard 2013 champagne. A late October harvest and zero dosage keep the focus on the fruit and chalk-rich terroir.

Notes

Citrus, green apple and mineral notes lead into a silky palate. Chalky texture, marked freshness and lively bubbles carry a distinctly saline character.

CHAMP CAÏN

Champ Caïn is a south-facing plot in Avize, planted with Chardonnay in 1962. Its chalk lies beneath clay, sand and silt. For the 2013 vintage, the grapes were picked on 10 October, preserving the identity of one place and one late harvest.
