Hakushu 12 Year Old matures at the Suntory forest distillery beneath Mount Kaikomagatake. Soft mountain water filtered through ancient granite is used in production, while the woodland microclimate influences its 12 years of ageing.

Notes

Basil, pine and green apple lead into pear, mint and kiwi. Green tea and subtle smoke linger on a fresh finish.

Keizo Saji founded Hakushu in 1973 in the forests of Japan's Southern Alps. Rain and snowmelt filter through Mount Kaikomagatake, while the cool, humid climate and seasons give this mountain distillery its own rhythm of whisky making.
