The 2021 Fettercairn 16 Year Old combines first-fill and refill Oloroso casks with first-fill aged palo cortado sherry butts. This 16 Year Old Highland release explores three sherry-cask selections, following distillation in the water-cooled copper stills.

Notes

Sugared almond and dried fruit open into mango, citrus and apricot. Walnut, coffee and cacao lead to salted caramel, sandalwood and ginger cake on the finish.

FOUNDING FETTERCAIRN

Sir Alexander Ramsay campaigned to legalise whisky distilling, then opened Fettercairn under licence in 1824. His first stillmen came from the illicit trade, bringing practical knowledge to the very business the new rules had made possible.
