This Chivas Extra 13 blended Scotch whisky selectively matured* in Oloroso Sherry Casks is inspired by the Chivas brothers’ 13 King Street Emporium in Aberdeen, where they imported different spirits, exotic spices, and luxury food items from across the globe. Imparting its own unique combination of characteristics onto the Chivas blend, this finish brings new and contrasting flavour notes to the spirit for the first time.

CHIVAS BROTHERS

In 19th Century Aberdeen, James Chivas started experimenting with some of the aged whiskies laid out in his grocery store cellar. A visionary act that would later change the Chivas Brothers story forever. Growing up on a remote Scottish farm, James and John Chivas were acutely aware that the world around them was changing and the idyllic backdrop they called home was no longer big enough to support their desire to make a difference. Following a three-day journey on foot, the brothers found themselves in Aberdeen. A city that perfectly matched their ambition. Finding gainful employment at an Aberdeen emporium James was quickly captivated by a whole new world of tastes, smells and exquisite flavours. Anything seemed possible and James quickly garnered a reputation for obtaining the unobtainable. When John joined the business Chivas Brothers was born.
