With the Island Green edition, Johnnie Walker has created a rare combination. This is a creation to showcase the Island malts more, in particular Caol Ila. The flavor profile within this blend balances their four signature styles of malt whisky using only Single Malt Whiskies which are represented by Caol Ila, Clynelish, Glenkinchie and Cardhu. However, it is Caol Ila (a maritime malt whisky) which provides the greatest influence.
Notes
On the palate there is an intense depth of flavour, full-bodied and has warming spice to it. There is a perfect balance between the fruity sweetness and the robust presence of smoke. The finish is complex, and it lingers on the taste buds. It combines gentle peat smoke, with the sweet orchard fruits.
