Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 matures in new, charred oak barrels made by the distillery. Before ageing, the Tennessee whiskey is mellowed through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal. Each batch is bottled only when the tasters approve its maturity.

Notes

Sweet vanilla and caramel sit against oak. The palate balances sweetness with a dry, woody edge and a smooth texture.

Jack Daniel learned whiskey making at Reverend Dan Call's farm, where Nathan 'Nearest' Green, then enslaved, taught him the craft. Jack later employed Green as his head distiller, placing that shared knowledge at the start of the house.
