Product details
The last vintage harvested in October, the only one in two decades, Louis Roederer Cristal Rose 2013 continues the great tradition of balance and purity that has made it legendary. The mineral concentration is at its peak and achieves tremendous depth in this late year. The longer vegetative cycle, the dry, bright summer and the slow ripening of the grapes up until the start of the autumn have given rise to two remarkably well-balanced and fresh champagnes that are the quintessence of chalky purity and the unique elegance typical of Cristal. In 2013 the Chardonnay shone with a new light, deeper, more complex and more saline. Blended with the Pinot Noir, it brings it out and takes it to a higher dimension, providing a structure and texture that portend a remarkable potential.
Tasting notes
Refined bouquet of freshly-picked tart red fruit (wild strawberry, raspberry) and lemon scented flower petals. The pure, precise fragrances delicately intertwine and are gradually joined by overtones of fresh almonds, bread and spices (cocoa bean). These nuanced, intricately interwoven fragrances are ethereal and transcendent. Intense, velvety and captivating on the palate. What else would you expect after such perfume? The juicy, concentrated red fruit gradually pulls towards a raspberry liqueur character complemented by invigorating, sweet citrus aromas. The harmony and delicacy of the wine is reinforced by the creamy bubbles which create a sensation of roundness and concentration. The mineral freshness lengthens the palate; it becomes vertical, chalky, saline and sapid with a sensation of perpetual acceleration created by the pure, bright limestone.

HOUSE OF LOUIS ROEDERER
The cuvées of the House of Louis Roederer are the fruit of patient work with fundamental ingredients, the collaboration of experts, a quest for the perfect balance, and hardy and generous grapes, cultivated in the Champagne soil, producing a wine with a summery character and crystalline elegance. Louis Roederer II also drew inspiration from the many books and drawings he collected with great discernment. In the 1870s, the Louis Roederer Champagne House began to export its wines to the United States, and even to Tsar Alexander II of Russia. A man of great taste and an inveterate researcher, Louis Roederer II fashioned an exclusive champagne for the Tsar and launched a novel concept: the very first Cuvée de Prestige. It was created in 1876 and named ‘Cristal’. Ever since, the subtleness and elegance of Cristal have forged Louis Roederer’s reputation for excellence.
