L’Or de Jean Martell 1715 – Assemblage du Lapin is the second release in Maison Martell’s highly exclusive, Zodiac limited edition series. The pinnacle of the Martell range, L’Or de Jean Martell 1715 is a remarkable and complex blend of 700 eaux-de-vie, each of which has attained its aromatic plenitude. To create Assemblage du Lapin, Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud preserves the aromatic profile of L’Or de Jean Martell 1715, and enriches it with rare vintage eaux-de-vie from previous Years of the Rabbit.
Tasting notes
Notes range from candied apricots to dried prunes and honeyed fruits. A liveliness appears in the middle of the mouth, as well as a remarkable synergy between subtle notes, ranging from red fruits, to black fruits in syrup; maraschino and amarena cherries. A wood that has been perfectly melted can be detected in the persistent finish.
ASSEMBLAGE DU LAPIN
A superb amber-hued pâte de cristal stopper comes with each L’Or de Jean Martell carafe, handcrafted by Manufacture Daum, a renowned French crystal producer with a tradition of savoir-faire that mirrors Maison Martell’s own. Each one-off, individually signed piece requires several hours of painstaking work by skilled artisans. This legacy of savoir-faire inspired current Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud to create the Zodiac Edition. He reveals his expertise by creating a cognac which not only retains the complex aromatic profile of L’Or de Jean Martell, but enriches it with a selection of vintage eaux-de-vie.
