Product details
The 2015 winegrowing year was marked by striking contrasts in climate, starting with a particularly cold spring, followed by a prolonged period of hot, dry weather that lasted until the end of August. When the harvest began on 7 September, in brilliant sunshine, the vines were impeccably healthy, revealing the exceptional generosity and balance of the grapes. This vintage aromatic wine promises a remarkable aromatic richness, capturing the unique essence of the year.
Tasting notes
The structure of Dom Pérignon 2015 feels horizontal, broad and straight, reflecting the wine’s luminous austerity. Each mouthful covers the palate, making an impression with clear, clean flavours, drawn in straight lines rather than curves. This structured concept is Dom Pérignon’s authentic signature, in which the sense of touch becomes fundamental. Without this tactile dimension, the flavour of the wine could not fully unfold in the space and time of its tasting, mirroring the space and time of its production.
DOM PIERRE PÉRIGNON
In 1668, Dom Pierre Pérignon, a Benedictine monk, was appointed procurator at the Abbey of Hautvillers. At a time when everything was guided by empirical methods, Dom Pierre Pérignon developed revolutionary techniques for viticulture and winemaking based on precise rules. Father Pérignon modernized the abbey, restored its vineyard, and set about to make "the best wine in the world". The "wine of Father Pérignon" became one of the most sought-after wines in France. It was served at Versailles and enjoyed by none other than Louis XIV. Profoundly inspired, his vision revolutionized winemaking with standards that remain at the heart of all champagne wines today. The legacy of Dom Pierre Pérignon continues to nourish Dom Pérignon's creative vision.
